Anyone who loves to crunch the numbers needs to meet Ken Roberts.
Ken lives in Raleigh, NC and operates Sports Club Stats (sortsclubstats.com), a festival of number crunching that this week places the odds of Dario Franchitti winning the Indy Car points championship at 60.5%.
"I started working on Sports Club Stats in March of 2006," said Roberts. "It mostly runs itself, so I can spend my time adding new sports and new features to the existing sports."
Roberts says his site is "accurate enough to be interesting." He created the site to 1) create something of his own and 2) earn enough money to pay the bills so he can continue to create things of his own.
To that end, a couple of months ago Roberts resigned his "real" job as a software engineer and went online full time in full-on super crunching mode.

According to the site Sam Hornish Jr has a 1 in 10,000,000 shot of winning the ICS title this year, which is only marginally better than his chances at winning the title in any NASCAR series.
So statistically you can see winning with IndyCars is not nearly enough of a challenge for a guy like Sam. One in Ten Million? Pffft.
