Lindy Thackston Finishes P10 for Miss Twitter December, Backers Vow All-Out Effort for Miss Twitter May

On the heels of a P10 finish in December, the Twitter friends of Lindy Thackston (@lindythackston) promised Friday they would "get Lindy into the wind tunnel so she's tweaked up and ready to win" Miss Twitter May.

The declaration of Miss Twitter war came after VERSUS IndyCar pit reporter Thackston (left) finished P10 in the Miss Twitter December polling on http://tweeter.faxo.com/Ms_Twitter_December.

Lindy finished with 15,982 votes after her Twitter friends mounted essentially a two-week drive. Lindy's backers declined to estimate how much being named a Woman of pressdog.com influenced her showing.

The winner, Lacey-Mae Schwimmer, has more than 40,000 Twitter followers and received 50,396 votes.

Wikipedia says: Schwimmer is an American competitive ballroom dancer, and the winner of multiple youth championship awards. She is best known as one of the Top 4 Finalists on the 2007 season of So You Think You Can Dance.

"I think we can take her," said one Thackston backer. "Sure, Schwimmer is hot and can dance, but can she go face to face with Chip Ganassi in an active pit wearing a fire suit while trying to cover for Jack Arute? NO. We're counting on Lindy's combination of hotness and toughness to win when it counts, in May."

You do not have to be a Twitterer to vote in the Miss Twitter contest. Twitter is a social media network wherein members post messages of 140 characters of less about what they are doing, where they are, what they find funny/stupid, etc. It's free and many IndyCar drivers, officials and fans have embraced the medium to stay connected.

Once you sign up for Twitter and choose your unique Twitter name (like @pressdog) you can choose to "follow" anyone else (like @pressdog) on Twitter. The postings, or "tweets," from those people you follow appear in your Twitter stream. You can also chose to block anyone who tries to follow your tweets, etc.

When the lindycar movement starts we all need to draft her into the lead for that final lap. We pulled off a fantastic finish for the best (AND PRETTIEST) pit reporter in the business for the December MS Twitter with an unplanned or prepared wildcat run (reminds me of Lindy). With the backing of @pressdog & that misguided Hobson we can put our Indy Queen at the front of the pack! 70el :-)
