Will someone PLEASE get this woman in a car ... that actually races?
Driver and environmental activist Leilani Münter is featured in the new TV series "Fast Forward" on Discovery's Planet Green Network. The series tells the stories of thirteen unique visionaries in their quest to build a greener and healthier future for our planet.
Video for this segment was shot during Leilani's attempt to run at Homestead during the 2009 FIL finale. I savor the irony that the Firestone Indy Lights will get massive air from Leilani's effort -- even though The FIL eventually told Leilani and others not to run in the race for fear of screwing up the battle for second in the points championship.
WTF?

That was a truly epic battle for 2nd place in the prestigous Firestone Indy Lights Championship.
I think TBA ended up winning 2nd place last year.
Another brilliant call by Wile E. Cotman.
Meanwhile, we are down 25% in car counts so far this year from where we were last year at this time. Maybe if he hadn't run off Jim Guthrie and his 3-4 car team and run off the 3 or 4 drivers like Leilani who wanted to run Homestead, they would be in a better position this year.
But as long as Robin likes him, then he must be great.
