ESPN’s live telecast of the NASCAR Nationwide Series race at New Hampshire Motor Speedway on Saturday, July 16, earned a 1.6 national household coverage rating, averaging 2,146,000 viewers, according to the Nielsen Company.
The rating jumped 33 percent from last year’s race, which was run the final weekend in June and rated a 1.2 on ESPN. In addition to the higher rating, all key male demographics experienced double-digit increases from last year’s telecast.
Across ESPN, ESPN2 and ABC, the NASCAR Nationwide Series is up 13 percent in ratings average from this point in 2010 and 10 percent above this point in 2009. In addition, the Male 18-34 demographic is up 18 percent from this point last year.
