Champ Car World Series sophomore Katherine Legge broke new ground in media relations when she used a British slang word that technically means "testicles" and is the UK version of the American slang use of "bullshit."
USA Today then one-upped the stunning development by spelling the word wrong according to several Internet sources discovered through many minutes of research.
According to an August 1, 2007 article on USA Today online:
"I definitely wasn't tough enough mentally when I came into Champ Car. Now I am," says Legge, 27, who became the first full-time female driver on the circuit last season. "Last year I let a lot (of) things get to me. I was too worried about what was going on around me, and I forgot about driving. This year I said bullocks to everybody and I'm concentrating on driving."
The word Legge most likely really used was "bollocks" (sometimes spelled "ballocks"), a British slang term that means annoyance.
As one online slang glossary put it:
"Technically speaking "bollocks" (also "ballocks") means "testicles" but is typically used to describe something that is no good (that's bollocks) or that someone is talking rubbish (he's talking bollocks). Surprisingly it is also used in a positive manner to describe something that is the best, in which case you would describe it as being "the dog's bollocks".
Legge's season has been anything but the dog's bollocks (or the cat's bollocks, for that matter). Legge has been plagued by mechanical failures. At San Jose a mental failure by ever-zealous fellow Englishman Speedy Dan Clarke caused Legge to DNF. Clarke banzaied under Legge cutting her right rear tyre with his nose wing and causing her to take the wall a few laps later.
The team likely agreed that Clarke's move was a kick in the actual bollocks. Sources at pressdog.com said Legge's most excellent use of the word bollocks nudged her closer to being sidepod worthy and marked a strong comeback for the young Brit after her disappointing 166-word response to a pdog inquiry.

You sure she wasn't talking about Sandra Bullock?

Of course, the most famous use of the word is in the classic Sex Pistols album "Nevermind the Bollocks", one of my favorites....
