Any future Dancing with the Stars entry from the Indy Racing League will be single and unbetrothed if a group of IRL spouses get their way.
The IRL spouses, alarmed by the Dancing in the Sheets that goes on in conjunction with ABC's show, have banned together to put their collective feet down.
"The league must declare Dancing with the Stars a Spousal No Fly Zone to preserve the sanctity of marriage in this great country," said a spouse who asked not to be named.
The spouses, including both wives and husbands of IndyCar Drivers, said they were alarmed at the amount of "groping and general sustained body contact" that goes on during the dancing.
News that Helio Castroneves' engagement has apparently become the latest casualty of the show only emboldened the group.
"All I know is that people we've talked to have said the women on that show are 'the hottest women on the planet' who spend time writhing and panting and generally undulating," said a spouse. "That's just too much for a normal person to survive. The league needs put a stop to it before someone had to drag out the pre-nup agreement."
Dancing with the Stars hotty Julianne Hough and partner were crowned champion of Dancing with the Stars Tuesday night.
It's Hough's second straight championship in the made-for-TV event that combines judges scores and fan voting.
Rumors could not be confirmed that Julianne's victory puts her in line for a test with Panther Racing. "We have no shortage of guys who want to work on her, ah, transmission," said a Panther insider. "But I can't really comment on whether or not she'll get a chance."
Other rumors had Julianne testing with Target Chip Ganassi -- for their stock car team.
Julianne danced this season with an extremely enthusiastic partner named Heelio who is rumored to have some racing experience.
Note: Champ Car is considering a street race in Nashville. The rest is made up.
The Champ Car World Series is investigating holding a street race in Nashville in 2009 because "it couldn't be more boring than the annual IndyCar snorefest at Napville Supersnoozeway."
According to reports on the highly reputable IRL site MyNameIsIRL.com, Nashville civic leaders have been approached by Champ Car to hold a temporary-course street race in 2009.

Dance FEVER! I lost my head and voted for Julianne and the Flying Banana. I don't watch the show, but packed my four votes for the babetastic Julianne Hough and the Penske guy.
Not only that, I watched some DWTS Confessionals on their site. Helio, stop macking on Julianne, OK? And Marie Osmond has EIGHT kids. WTF? It's a Festival of Reproduction. Might have to make a new shirt in the pressdog shirt shop.

Sebastien Bourdais rode off into the sunset after the Champ Car World Series race in Mexico City on Nov. 13 with his 31 Champ Car career win trophies and four points champion Vanderbilt Cups filling up the U-Haul. Bourdais is off to Toro Rosso Formula 1 team in Spain.
With 31 wins in 78 Champ Car starts, Bourdais sports a 42.5% winning percentage, which is solidly in the "freakish" range. The only criticism of him is the old "didn't beat anyone" deal, which implies that Champ Car of today doesn't feature the rugged competition of its predecessor CART 20 years ago.
Bourdais beat everyone who showed up and deserves his place among the best ever. Once he got into the lead in the race, goodnight. Robin Miller offered this well-done Salute to Bourdais.
Veteran racing journalist/columnist Gordon Kirby has posted a stunningly frank interview with exiting Honda racing boss Robert Clarke.
Exerpt:
But Clarke expressed considerable frustration in working with the IRL. "I feel like we're moving forward but it's taking millimeters at a time," he said. "But it is moving forward and we're trying to keep our optimism up. While I'm looking more forward to my ultimate retirement, I'm concerned about it because I have put a considerable effort on a daily basis into trying to make the
IRL better and when I leave, I don't see them doing it on their own. I'm not trying to flatter myself, but it's a fact that somebody has got to keep beating on them to move forward."
Clarke says he's been deeply dispirited from the time and energy he spent over the past two years trying to bring IRL and Champ Car together. He says he agreed to take on the task after discussions with former American Honda boss and current Honda board member Koichi Amemiya.
There's no doubt the IRL owes Honda its life in the last two years. There's likely much prayer and candle lighting at IRL world heaquarters that the new Honda boss, Eric Berkman, doens't just tell his bosses "screw it, this series is whack." Then where would the IRL be? Huge and extended shout outs to Kirby for the post and Clarke for the candor.
So I'm at a bar Monday night watching Mundy Night Football with some people from my church. True story. Fortunately, the sound was turned down so we couldn't hear the ESPN crew compete to fill every millisecond of air time with someone's voice.
I'm watching the game drinking Sam Adams Winter Ale and seeing the Niners get smashed. Feeling manly. A family was sitting in a booth in the bar/restaurant eating. Each booth has a little flat panel on the wall so you can watch whatever.

Champ Car's pullout of its Las Vegas race after just a year apparently stems from an Elvis-related dispute.
Series insiders claim Champ Car declined the Las Vegas Convention and Tourism Commission's demand that one of its drivers dress as Elvis during the race.
