IndyCar standout Danica Patrick and her Beaver have been nominated as the Favorite Female Athlete in Nickelodeon's 21st Annual Kids' Choice Awards.
Kids will vote online for winners in 18 categories beginning March 3. Other nominees for Favorite Female Athlete are Cheryl Ford, Serena Williams and Venus Williams.
Insiders credited Danica's cute and cuddly beaver, which appeared with her on a Web-based Super Bowl ad for Go Daddy, for keeping her in the media spotlight.
"We hear she doesn't go anywhere without her beaver. And it's apparent that people who want to get a look at her beaver and maybe even touch it are really driving her Q rating through the roof. It's a great lesson for all the girls out there. If you want attention, use your beaver."
Officials said if other women would have to make similar moves if they want to beat Patrick. "For example, if Venus would just do a commercial about their bush, that would kill and be an inspiration to millions of girls. I hear she has a fabulous hydrangea in back of her house. You really need to show that kind of bush off."
Likewise, Cheryl Ford could do some business with her rack. "It has room for three shot guns and a rifle," said one fan. "Sure, she scores 25 points per game in the WNBA, but the way to really roll in the dough is to cash in on your rack."
Rumors that Danica may be offered a Nickelodeon show called "Danica and Her Magic Beaver" could not be confirmed.
