Live from the Milwaukee Mile -- 9:15 p.m. 5/31/08

Hey kids. Long day at the track is over. I'm having a refreshing beverage back at the Econolodge and trying to empty the tape recorder.

It's an all-in-one-day deal at Milwaukee. Two practices and then a qualifying all on Saturday. Darren Manning: not a fan of the format, especially when the "rookies" got an extra hour of practice.

Graham Rahal was on the pole for quite a while, but then, after Vitor Miera put 'er into the wall durng qualifying, Marco Andretti went out there and got his first pole.

Andretti Green PR Chief Rob Cleveland flashed out these stats:

Practice is underway at the Milwaukee Mile. Check indycar.com for the stunning timing and scoring. My boy Will Power is kicking some buttcheeks atop the speed chart.

Yes, Will (Danger) Power(s), (danger is his middle name) is leading practice. Makes sense since this one-mile oval is knd of street race-ish in that you have to lift in the corners, drive the car bit more, etc.etc.

I tell ya, Power has skills. Right after I started this, Graham Rahal took P1.

Good morning from scenic Milwaukee, a cruise-control 6.5 hour drive from Des Moines.

Coming to you from the Econolodge about 15 minutes from the track. Before I get on my way to the complimentary breakfast and then on to the track, a couple things.

I continue to be a little amazed at how knotted up people seem to be over Danica's Stomp Down the Lane.

Text4Cars.com Has Love for Sarah Fisher

I don't think I've ever seen a news release like this, but according to "Marketwire," Text4Cars.com got some whoppin boost from sponsoring Sarah Fisher in the Indy 500.

"We have received many inquiries, comments and praise. Our flow of new customers is substantial. These new customers include several high value car dealerships," the release says.

INDIANAPOLIS, IN – Sarah Fisher Racing (SFR) announced today that fans participating in the Community Day autograph session would receive a limited edition SFR “I Support SFR” shirt for donations made to the team for the 92nd running of the Indianapolis 500.
