Robert Kubica and BMW Sauber win at Canada flashback. Like IndyCar, F1 is pretty desperate for someone, anyone to challenge the dominant team(s), in F1's case that's Ferrari. Montage includes Lewis Hamilton brain lock moment in the pit when he BASHED into the back of Kimi Räikkönen. Kimi helpfully directs Hamilton's attention to the red light.Video of a tiny car pulling up and 19 clowns jumping out with eye charts.

One of the reasons my family has lived in Iowa for FIVE generations (my kids are Gen VI, baby!) is because of what's happening here in the aftermath of the flood.

Fisher Endorses a Donkey, Rides an Elephant

After being saddled with more than her share of pigs in IndyCar racing, Sarah Fisher apparently decided to climb aboard something that at least had some towing power.

She recently took a trip aboard Tombi, a 31-year-old, 14,000-pound African elephant, as part of the Indianapolis Zoo's elephant awareness days.

The donkey is the symbol for the Democratic Party, a member of which (Hilary Clinton) Sarah endorsed for president. Perhaps in the spirit of equal time, Sarah helped wash an elephant, the symbol for the Republican Party.

Once aboard, Sarah surprised the zoo staff by letting out a scream when Tombi exited the pit.

"She races at over 200 miles per hour and she was scared to ride on an Elephant that doesn’t even go 30 mph,” joked Tombi’s trainer."

An IndyCar won't accidentally drop you from upwards of 10 feet, though, unless you happen to be Dario Franchitti.

Witnesses also speculated that Sarah saw Marco Andretti in her Tombi's rear-view causing the outburst.

Danica Responds to Dixon

The Media Posse at Richmond has received a 15-minute feeding from Danica, who is freshly accused of being Princess Blocks-A-Lot by Scott Dixon and Eddy Carpenter. My favorite part is this:

Q: Forgive me for asking this, what did you find more insulting, to be called a menace by Scott Dixon or the new Scott Sharp by Ed Carpenter?

DANICA PATRICK: They're both bad. Neither of them is good. Anybody will agree with that. So, again, I don't know where the comments came from. I really don't. I mean, sure, I don't know where they came from, that's really all I can say.

No love for Scott Sharp! If this type of entertainment value continues I may have to try to get me a hard card and go on the road full time. Drawback: No beer allowed in the actual news conferences.

Ganassi Reportedly Watched Iowa Race from Idaho Bar

Target Chip Ganassi chief Chip Ganassi watched Dan Wheldon win the Iowa Corn 250 from a bar in Newdale, Idaho, according to team insiders.

Ganassi, who was conspicuous by his absence in Newton, Iowa, Sunday, apparently mistakenly ended up in the Idaho community of 355 people.

Manning Reports being "knackered" at Iowa Speedway

Darren Manning had the pleasure of telling A.J. Foyt he was "knackered already" around lap 15 of the Iowa Corn 250.

"Knackered" is tired, exhausted, or broken in British and Irish slang.

Selling T-shirts that saya "I got knackered in Iowa" could make someone rich.

You can imagine Super Tex's reaction. Laptops may have been thrown -- at Darren. Props to Darren for being honest with the boss.

A comment from me on Trackforum.com made it into the USA Today "Web Watch" feature on page 3C on June 24.

The story, entitled "Danica story lands IndyCar in spotlight" features reactions by fan forum posters to Scott Dixon calling Danica a "menace" on the track.

Posting under my Track Forum name, homeslice, I said: "I think it's kind of an encouraging sign that drivers aren't afraid to crank on Danica like they would any other driver." Check out the story here!

Other posters talked about this being a racing issue, not a Danica issue, took the opportunity to bag on or praise Danica and even brought the N-Word into it (of course).
