INDIANAPOLIS - Nov. 30, 2009 - Sarah Fisher Racing (SFR) today announced its plan to host the 2nd annual "12 Days of Christmas Food Drive" with Indianapolis' St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry (SVdP) to serve as the beneficiary for the second consecutive year.

Good stuff form John Oreovicz on ESPN.com about how Danica needs to, ah, um, work on the racing part of it a little more in 2010 and beyond.

I chortle, of course, because Danica Patrick came into the league dissing my girl Sarah Fisher for having trouble with the "racing part of it." Naturally Sarah and her fans went into grand mal froth over the public dissing. Sarah herself said she would like to see Danica drive Sarah's (really bad word) car faster.

Since then, Danica has won once at Motegi and hasn't exactly set the world on fire, racing-part-of-it-wise, despite driving for top teams.

pressdog.com WORLD headquarters has received a letter from J. Patrick Wright, executive director for the Racing For Kids charity, thanking What Would Danica Think bracelet buyers for their donation of $150.

Net proceeds (after cost of bracelets and shipping) from WWDT bracelet sales were donated to Racing for Kids, championed by Robbie "Incredi" Buhl and Dreyer & Reinbold Racing.

Thanks hugely to DRR's Brie Rentz for coordinating the donation, and a huge shout out to everyone who played along and bought a bracelet.

You're all rock stars who cause me to wipe manly tears.

pressdog F1 Swag Cash Still Up for Grabs

My F1 merchandise cash is still up for grabs, thanks to a lack of USF1 swag early and developments with the team more recently.

If USF1's Web site (www.usgpe) was up and running with a swag store (rather than the "coming soon" placeholder it has been for months), doubtless I would already own some USF1 stuff. 

But, now that it's starting to look like USF1 will be a couple of purchased rides, Cosworth-logo stuff has the inside line for my swag cash. Doubtless I'll issue a press release that drops Danica Patrick's name for no apparent reason when I decide where to spend my cash.

EJ Viso to Chippy? Power-like Merit Promotion or Duno-like Ride Buy?

Even the mighty Indy Star sorta, kind of, somewhat hints (according to Paddocktalk.com) that EJ Viso is going to drive a third car at Target Chip Ganassi in 2010. And alert reader Tom Metcalfe says EJ's Facebook page says he "just walked into his new era."

QUESTION: IF it's true, Did EJ's prowess on the track earn him this most coveted ride or did he find sponsors to write Chippy an GI-normous check? Sub-question: does it really matter in today's IndyCar?

Munt-real Back on the F1 Schedule

What does it take to get back on Bernie's F1 schedule? How about 70 MEEEEyun taxpayer dollars?

Apparently Montreal has come up with those crazy benjamins to get back on the F1 schedule.I guess it's a bargain since Bernie Ecclestone had wanted $165 million to keep the race in Montreal.

Boosters seek ways to save Edmonton Indy race

The Edmonton Journal is fully deployed and I pesonally love how they are taking an honest look at the challenges facing the IndyCar race there.

Today the Journal is out with a report on how a group is trying to save the red-ink-bathed race.

Edmonton Indy's losses hook taxpayers for millions

Right on the heels of the Brazil street race announcement comes a story from the Edmonton Journal about the financial train wreck that is the Rexall Edmonton Indy.

The last two races there generated a combined loss of $9.2 million for Edmonton taxpayers to enjoy, according to the paper.

Brazil? Probably. Pretty sure.

On the afternoon of the day before Thanksgiving is a strange time to announce the long-awaited Brazil race, but there you have it.

IndyCar.com's Super Dave Lewandowski says it will be in a street race in São Paulo on March 14 and "the racing circuit is being developed by Indy Racing League vice president of competition Tony Cotman."

The race will NOT be at the F1 track at Interlagos, a track which is apparently none of IndyCar's business. Read Dave's story HERE.

The development may mean that the Brazil race has re-emerged from the Angstadt Unit of Time dimension, but experts said Wednesday "I'll believe it when I see cars on the grid."

UPDATE: An alert reader supposes that the people in Brazil, who don't do Thanksgiving, were talking about this race right now. So IndyCar had to bust it out here, explaining the crazy THanksgiving eve timing.
