Dan Wheldon's ride in a National Guard bobsled Sunday in Lake Placid, NY, turned into a festival of flipping carbon fiber, according to twitterings.
Wheldon's sled was reportedly going 64 mph when it crashed and flipped, causing him to slide down the track. Dan suffered only bruises and the driver was not injured (although very likely extremely embarrassed).
@pantherracing said driver Phil said he screwed up on entry to a corner and then lost it on exit. That's so F1! At that point Dan and Phil WERE JUST PASSENGERS. Fortunately, no one was seriously injured.
Behold the Twitter timeline from @pantherracing below. (Tweets are arranged from newest to oldest, so read from the bottom up to get the Tweet-by-Tweet recap.)
I wonder how it feels to be in a car crash. Hmm. These professional drivers or racers are probably used to the feeling. Moreover, I bet they don't like it at all. They were able to tweet immediately, huh? They're fortunate not to get injured! Drive safer on the track, guys!
