SPARTA, Ky. – Kentucky Speedway will place single-event tickets for its action-packed 2010 season on sale Monday, February 15.
The 66,089-capacity race venue will open its 11th season with NASCAR Nationwide Series action June 11-12.
Cars will take to the track for the first time on Friday for practice sessions on “Click It or Ticket. Buckle-Up Kentucky Practice Night.” Action will continue Saturday when back-to-back Kentucky Speedway Nationwide Series race winner Joey Logano defends his “Meijer 300 presented by Ritz” titles against a field of big-name drivers that is scheduled to include NASCAR Sprint Cup Series star Carl Edwards.
Kentucky Speedway will play host to its first Labor Day weekend celebration by delivering NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, IZOD IndyCar Series and Firestone Indy Lights events Sept. 3-4. Two-time Kentucky Speedway NCWTS race winner Ron Hornaday, Jr., will take on the circuit’s toughest competitors Friday night in the “Built Ford Tough 225 presented by the Greater Cincinnati Ford Dealers.”
High-speed excitement will continue Saturday when Ryan Briscoe defends his 300-mile Kentucky Speedway IZOD IndyCar Series title against the world’s top open-wheel racing competitors. The talents of up-and-coming open-wheel developmental drivers will start the day with the Firestone Indy Lights “Drive Smart. Buckle-Up Kentucky 100.”
Single-event ticket prices will hold steady for the seventh consecutive season. Tickets for the NASCAR Nationwide Series “Meijer 300 presented by Ritz” race along with the doubleheader race day featuring the “Drive Smart. Buckle-Up Kentucky 100” Firestone Indy Lights sprint and 300-mile IZOD IndyCar Series battle will be priced between $50 and $80 depending on seat location.
NASCAR Camping World Truck Series “Built Ford Tough 225 presented by the Greater Cincinnati Ford Dealers” race tickets will range from $40 to $70. General admission NASCAR Nationwide Series “Click It or Ticket. Buckle-Up Kentucky Practice Night” tickets will be $20.
Value-oriented fans will once again be able to realize solid ticket savings with the return of the speedway’s “Big Deals.”
A “Front Row Joe” special will offer fans as many as 10 seats in Rows 1-5 of Grandstand 5 for $25 each for the NASCAR Nationwide Series “Meijer 300 presented by Ritz” and the 300-mile IZOD IndyCar Series race. NASCAR Camping World Truck Series “Built Ford Tough 225 presented by the Greater Cincinnati Ford Dealers” special “Front Row Joe” seats will be $20.
Kentucky Speedway also will roll out “Affordable Fun Paks” that bundle four Grandstand 5 race tickets, four hot dogs and four fountain drinks for one convenient price. AFPs will be priced at $125, $135 and $145 for the NASCAR Nationwide Series “Meijer 300 presented by Ritz” and IZOD IndyCar Series 300-mile event. NASCAR Camping World Truck Series “Built Ford Tough 225 presented by the Greater Cincinnati Ford Dealers” AFPs will be $100, $110 and $120.
Fans also will be able to enjoy a view of driver introductions from the infield with the return of the “Infield Invaders” pass. Passes will be $40 for both the NASCAR Nationwide Series and NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race days. IZOD IndyCar Series race day “Infield Invader” passes will be $50. All passes must be accompanied by a race ticket.
The speedway will include big-name race day concerts in the price of its June 12 and Sept. 4 race tickets.
Classic country music group Sawyer Brown will take the Kentucky Speedway concert stage June 12 before the NASCAR Nationwide Series “Meijer 300 presented by Ritz.” Vocalist Mark Miller and fellow founding members keyboardist Gregg “Hobie” Hubbard, bassist Jim Schloten, drummer Joe Smyth and guitarist Bobby Randall launched their steady hit-making run by winning the 1983 “Star Search” television competition. They began recording soon-to-be country favorites in 1984. Randall left the group in 1991 and Duncan Cameron filled the spot until his 2004 departure brought current guitarist Shayne Hill to the lineup.
