PR release from Dragon Racing ...
DRAGON RACING AND TRUECAR END ASSOCIATION WITH KATHERINE LEGGE
LOS ANGELES, CA. (February 13, 2013) – Dragon Racing and TRUECar, Inc, sponsor of the #6 car TRUECar Dragon Racing entry, today announced that they have ended their relationship with Katherine Legge.
“We are thankful for the contributions Katherine Legge has made during her time at Dragon Racing,” said Executive Vice President of Dragon Racing, Paul Woolnough. “But unfortunately our primary sponsor and Dragon Racing have decided it is best for the team to move in a different direction for the upcoming season. We wish Katherine her the best in her future racing endeavors.”
After overcoming seemingly insurmountable issues with Lotus during the 2012 season, Dragon Racing has fielded two entries for the 2013 IndyCar season. “We’ve had to make some difficult choices this offseason, based on the goal of winning races and doing what is best our partners, sponsors, and team” said Dragon Racing President Jay Penske. “And I adamantly believe with the experience of our crew, our engineers, drivers, and the tremendous support of our partners, we have a team in 2013 that can compete for the championship.”
Both Dragon Racing and TRUECar have tried to amicably resolve this matter with Legge and her representatives to no avail -- and aside of acknowledging the existence of the dispute, due to the confidential nature of the dispute, neither of the parties will be making any further public statements regarding this matter, but both TrueCar and Dragon Racing have ample confidence that they will undoubtedly prevail.
Dragon Racing yesterday announced Sebastian Saavedra as the driver of #6 TRUECar Dragon Racing entry, as the preparation continues on the #7 Dragon Racing entry driver by four time Champ Car champion, Sebastien Bourdais. The team shall be testing throughout the month of February and looks forward to its finest season yet.
HI-HO, HI-HO, it's off to court we go!! And along the way kick Ms.Legge..."TrueCar’s sincere efforts to resurrect Katherine’s open wheel career"...OH REALLY??
They in partnership with Dragon Racing...gave her a car with a LOTUS engine, and when that went bye-bye....they ON OCCASION let her drive a car with Chevy, which Seabass said was let's say... less than competitive...and now it's HER FAULT!!
I know there are two sides to every story....but one side in this case stinks...Guess which??
