DAVID HIGDON: Good afternoon. We really appreciate you hosting us. I'm David Higdon, a member of the Integrated Marketing Communications team at NASCAR. Can't tell you enough how excited I am to be here today and how excited all of us at NASCAR are, as well.

That’s me watching the Twitter feed freak out over Danica Patrick hosting the American Country Awards (ACA) last night, which was better than watching the award show itself.

My favorite part was when Danica dressed up as a Las Vegas show girl (the show was held in Las Vegas) and tried to keep up with a group of professional show girls. Funny bit. Cue the “Scantily clad” headlines! In fact, cue about 293 stories (just Google “Danica Patrick ACA show girl”). Then cue the freak out on Twitter.

Uncle pressdog’s Fireside Chat — NASCAR Comes to Iowa Edition

Yo yo yo, my homeys. What up and sheiiiit? No, I’m not dead, just very, very tired. (Rim shot).

It occurs to me that of late I have been too concerned about being called “negative” — so often in a most excellent passive aggressive manner — that I have tended to pull punches. Shy away from things that I think suck. Because, after you hear “LOVE IT OR LEAVE IT” (paraphrased) a certain number of times your mind starts to say “maybe it’ll be option B.”

Insert some kind of Twitter-based snark about pdog not loving IndyCar anymore because Danica no longer races there to illustrate my point. Bring it, haters!
